Brian McGloughlin
Director

New Approach Training and Consultancy Ltd was set up by Brian McGloughlin in 2009. Brian is a highly experienced within the area of HR and as a Consultant and Trainer who has senior management experience across a broad range of industries (Retail, Healthcare and Travel) and business models. Brian has gained valuable experience both in a self-employed capacity and through management positions in the private sector. Brian has over twenty years experience in both the multinational and SME sectors. He appreciates the competitive advantage that learning and development can bring both to the individual and the organisation.

Brian completed an MBA and an MSc in Human Resource Management with the OU Business School. Brian has also completed a FETAC (level 6) Trainers course as well as the NUIM Certificate in Training and Further Education. He is a member of the QQI External Authenticator Panel and is also a member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development.

Trudi Barnett

 Director of Training & Professional Development
As a qualified Psychologist & Sociologist with over 20 years of project, strategic management and training design and facilitation experience Trudi has been working with New Approach Training since it's inception. As a highly motivated and results oriented Training & Programme Coordinator, Trudi has the ability to build, maintain and manage effective internal and external professional relationships. She consistently demonstrates a creative yet professionally diligent approach to all activities while applying precision and logical thinking techniques.

Trudi has also been appointed a member of the QQI External Authenticator Panel and provides a range of specialist advice and adult education provisions nationwide.





Sheena Cunnington
Lead - Elder Care & Dementia Training

Sheena is a Registered General Nurse with more than 25 years' experience. She has a particular interest in dementia and memory problems and has specialised in this area throughout her career. In 2014, Sheena completed a Masters Degree in Dementia at Trinity College Dublin. She has a wealth of experience in home care management, including team building, managing change, and facilitating workplace learning.

Sheena successfully achieved the UK Registered Manager's Award for Leadership and Management in Residential Care in 2007.Sheena entered the field of Healthcare training over three years ago. Her inclusive approach is underpinned by the concept of person centredness, a philosophy which she believes is central to best practice in health and social care. She facilitates learning across a range of subjects pertaining to care of the older person: living with dementia, maintaining human connection, recognising retained abilities, positive risk-taking, life story work, activity provision, and behaviours that challenge. A second area of special interest is in communication and language. In Ireland's multi-national healthcare climate today, there are many healthcare professionals for whom English is a second language. Sheena believes that an understanding of how adults learn to become proficient in English can inform delivery of healthcare training, so that material is developed and presented in a way which is accessible and easily understood by all.

Lara Synnott
Lead
Early Years Training

With a background in Languages and Intercultural studies, Lara is not only multilingual but also well placed to act in an advisory capacity for those working and communicating with people of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Lara’s academic background has mainly been in the area of applied linguistics, with a focus on supporting the language development of children from marginalised communities. In addition, Lara has many years experience working in the area of Language Testing for adults and children in Dublin City University and as a consultant for Cambridge English Language Assessment, a part of Cambridge University. Lara has worked with children aged 0-12 years in a variety of educational settings in Ireland and abroad. She has a long held interest in Early Childhood Care and Education and has extensive experience facilitating, mentoring and assessing the QQI Level 6 Major Award in Early Childhood Care and Education.

Lara holds a BA in Applied Languages and Intercultural studies, an MA in Second Language Studies and QQI Level 6 major award in Early Childhood Care and Education, and is currently completing a Higher Diploma in Psychology, equivalent to an honours degree.
 

Jeannine Tanner

Health & Safety Consultant

As a qualified Health & Safety Specialist, Jeannine leads our Health & Safety Consultancy division. Jeannine has acted as a health & safety consultant within a broad range of business sectors where her work includes writing safety statements, completing health & safety audits and guides for clients. Jeannine is also a fully qualified QMS Auditor/Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2008) and works on a part-time consultancy basis with leading certification bodies, providing third party verification of Management Systems, Products and Security Services in accordance with Irish, European and International standards.

Jeannine is a qualified trainer and has over25 years experience within the healthcare sector. This includes twelve years experience in some of the most high-risk and challenging social care environments dealing with clients who display the most challenging of behaviours. Jeannine regularly delivers the QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare on behalf of New Approach Training on both a public and private basis.

Elaine Byrne

Director of Sales & Marketing
Elaine holds a Master of Business Degree in Marketing & Entrepreneurship and a 1st Class Honours Degree in Business Studies.  She has also completed a Diploma in Education & Training with NUI Galway and a JEB/EDI Diploma in Education Practice & ICT Skills.  Elaine is also a MOS Master and an ECDL accredited Tester.

As a is a fully qualified professional Trainer, assessor, course coordinator and manager with over 20 years’ experience Elaine has trained for the Commercial Sector, Government Initiatives and local community development groups. She has developed, designed and delivered training in Telemarketing, telephone skills, sales, IT, Career Planning, Job Seeking Skills, Personal Development & Effectiveness, Presentation & Communication Skills, Networking, community leadership, community visioning and Peace Building programmes.

Dr. Bill Seery 
Lead
Change Management

Dr. Seery is a highly-qualified lecturer in the Principles of Management, and more specifically in Change Management. He has a Bachelor and Master’s degree from UCD in a variety of disciplines including Philosophy and Classics, and a PhD from the University of Ulster in Organisational Change. Dr. Seery has extensive experience in challenging environments in the public and private sectors, in particular healthcare administration, where managing organisational change is a key requirement.

He has successfully undertaken administrative responsibility for major health promotion initiatives such as (a) Heart Watch (b) Diabetes Shared Care (c) Smoking Cessation and (d) Clinical Dietetics. He also played an active role in the Change Management programme of East Coast Area Health Board for a number of years.

As a trained Facilitator in this role, Dr. Seery worked with different groups in healthcare organisations and facilitated them on Change Management issues in their working environments.










Claire Dooley
Early Years
Quality Mentor

Claire has a MA in Child, Youth and Family Studies and a BA in Early Childhood Education and Care. Claire has a wide variety of experience and background that includes directly working with children aged from birth to 6 years, and working with Early Years Professionals helping them to develop their work to ensure children are receiving the highest quality of care and education. Claire is passionate about the development of the early years sector, and feel that both tutoring and mentoring on an early intervention and prevention programme gives her the opportunity to work with Early Years Professionals to help them build on their quality in early years provision.
 

Claire also has experience in tutoring level 5, 6 and 7/8 courses. She has recently completed a research dissertation on the implementation of Aistear which has highlighted gaps in the implementation process which, in turn, has provided scope for areas to be focused on when carrying out her tutoring. Claire believes in making classes as practical as possible for my students. 

 

Brendan Power
Lead - Healthcare Training

Brendan has been working as a nurse for over ten years both in Ireland and overseas. His professional background includes working in a wide variety of care settings including hospital facilities, private nursing homes and community residences.

Brendan has gained vast experience in the areas of general nursing as well as education. Brendan completed a master of Health Sciences in Nurse Education with the National University of Ireland (NUIG) in 2012. This led to Brendan being accredited as a Registered Nurse Tutor (RNT) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).









Dr. Adrian Berski

Lead
Business Management
Dr. Adrian Berski is a practising Ph.D Doctor (Social Science). He also has an MSc in Political Science and postgraduate qualifications in Digital Communications for Business. He is currently completing an L.L.B. at Dublin Institute of Technology.

His research interests are in the areas of Central Asia, political-law system, ethnic policy of the CIS countries. Adrian is passionate about the political system of the Commonwealth of Independent State countries, teaching and research. His thesis are internationally recognised.

Adrian has been with New Approach Training since 2010 and works as both a trainer and a consultant. Adrian also acts as a consultant for the Marie Curie Sklodowska University in Poland, Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan, Griffith College in Dublin, Alba Iulia University in Romania and also works as an independent consultant for the European Research and Innovation Centre at the European Commission.














Stephanie Wadding
Lead - First Aid/Paediatric First Aid Training

As a qualified Health & Safety Practitioner and Trainer, Stephanie works on a consultancy basis with several training companies as well as an a H&S advisor to the Aviation industry.  As training is her passion, she counts Manual Handling,  Occupational First Aid  and Paediatric First Aid amongst her Instructor  qualifications. She holds a NEBOSH Dip and a Human Factor Qualification and has worked as a Safety Manager  for a major global airline.

Stephanie has over 20 years experience in the safety arena where her work has included Accident Investigation,  Health & Safety Audits and Risk Assessments. 

Stephanie now sets up our Paediatric First Aid course, which follows the National Syllabus and is a one day intensive course valid for 2 years. 

Stephanie is also a member of the Irish Institute of Training & Development
