Safety Representative Training Programme
Course aim
The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 entitles employees to select at least one individual as a Safety Representative to represent employees on matters related to Health & Safety. The course examines the implications of health and safety legislation on both the employer and the employee and describes the consultative process within the company. It defines the role and function of the safety representative as well as the role of the Health and Safety Inspectorate. The course also highlights the importance of routine workplace inspections and the importance of having a correct procedure in place for accident investigations and preventative inspections as well as defining the role of the Safety Statement within the company.
