Course aim
This 4 day course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to care for clients in a safe and hygienic environment.
Who should apply
Anyone interested in working with the older person or healthcare environment.
Course content
The course will provide you with a comprehensive knowledge and skills to care for the older person.
There are three units of study:
Unit 1: Understanding Client Care
Unit 2: Using Equipment
Unit 3: Assisting Skills
Learners who successfully complete this module will:
- Recognise the personal care needs of clients
- Respond effectively to client’s individual , with their involvement and use of choice
- Acquire practical skills in the area of client personal care
- Maintain a safe, healthy and hygienic environment for clients
Course certification
This course will be run as a FETAC Certified course.
Following successful completion you will receive a FETAC Level 5 Award in Care Skills (D20163).
The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) is the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland. New Approach Training is registered with FETAC to offer programmes leading to FETAC awards in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland.
