Understanding HIQA & Statutory Guidelines: Children & Young People

Course Aim
This one day course focusses on HIQA's role of monitoring, regulating and controlling the various services for children and young people against different standards and related regulations. The standards describe the quality and safety of services that should be provided to children including child protection and welfare services, foster care, residential care, statutory special care, and detention schools. The aim of this course is to ensure that the learner fully understands, and has the knowledge and skills to comply to these service standards so as to ensure that each child or young person is being cared for safely and well and that they are actively supported to achieve their potential. Who should apply? Anyone who is working with or caring for children on a professional or private basis.
